Fine-Grained Urban Air Quality Mapping from Sparse Mobile Air Pollution Measurements and Dense Traffic Density

چکیده
Urban air quality mapping has been widely applied in urban planning, pollution control and personal exposure assessment. maps are traditionally derived using measurements from fixed monitoring stations. Due to high cost, these stations generally sparsely deployed a few representative locations, leading highly generalized map. In addition, varies rapidly over short distances (<1 km) is influenced by meteorological conditions, road network traffic flow. These variations not well represented coarse-grained generated conventional fixed-site methods but have important implications for characterizing heterogeneous exposures identifying localized hotspots. Therefore, fine-grained indispensable. this context, supplementary low-cost mobile sensors make promising alternative. Using sparse collected various contextual factors, especially flow, we propose context-aware locally adapted deep forest (CLADF) model infer the distribution of NO2 100 m 1 h resolution mapping. The CLADF exploits construct local each cluster consisting nearest neighbor feature space, considers flow as an feature. Extensive validation experiments were conducted 17 postal vans equipped with operating Antwerp, Belgium. experimental results demonstrate that achieves lowest RMSE advances accuracy correlation, compared benchmark models, including random forest, extreme gradient boosting support vector regression.

Modelling Urban Traffic Air Pollution Dispersion
The prime aim of this research is to support decision making, e.g., air quality impact analysis, human health assessment, through spatially modelling traffic-induced air pollution dispersion in urban areas at street level. Based on the information needed in decision making, a framework for a street level air quality decision support system is established, which is composed of basically three pa...
متن کاملAir pollution measurements in traffic tunnels.
Air pollution measurements during April 1991 are reported from the Craeybeckx highway tunnel in Antwerp, Belgium. The tunnel was used daily by an average of 45,000 vehicles, of which 60% were gasoline fueled passenger cars, 20% diesel cars, and 20% trucks. Of the gasoline cars, only 3% had three-way catalysts. Tunnel air concentrations of nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide, carbon...
متن کاملActual car fleet emissions estimated from urban air quality measurements and street pollution models.
A method to determine emissions from the actual car fleet under realistic driving conditions has been developed. The method is based on air quality measurements, traffic counts and inverse application of street air quality models. Many pollutants are of importance for assessing the adverse impact of the air pollution, e.g. NO2, CO, lead, VOCs and particulate matter. Aromatic VOCs are of special...
متن کاملThe development of a dense urban air pollution monitoring network
The importance of air pollution monitoring networks in urban areas is well known because of their miscellaneous applications. At the beginning of the 1990s, Berlin had more than 40 particulate matter monitoring stations, whereas, by 2013, there were only 12 stations. In this study, a new and free–of–charge methodology for the densifying of the PM10 monitoring network ...
متن کاملUrban Air Pollution Modeling
All life form on this planet depends on clean air. Air quality not only affects human health but also components of environment such as water, soil, and forests, which are the vital resources for human development. Urbanization is a process of relative growth in a country’s urban population accompanied by an even faster increase in the economic, political, and cultural importance of cities rela...
